I love this series from the first episode. Okay, maybe, sometimes I just feel that the story is not good, but overall I am really happy that I ever watching a television series about broadway, such as SMASH.
I won’t deny that Katharine McPhee is the main reason I watch this series regularly. Kath is one of my favorite American Idol alumni, though in music industry she hasn’t succeed yet. I don’t care with the other people thoughts, but her first album, Katharine McPhee, is one of my favorite female album all the time. In fact, I do have a lot of album on my list, hehehe…such as Britney Spears, JoJo, Maria Lawson, Natasha Bedingfield, etc.
Anyway, about the series. Beside the actors/actresses, I just loved the theme. It’s all about a journey to prepare a musical about Marilyn Monroe. Yes, the legendary Miss Monroe who will be portrayed by three girls in this series, Karen (Katharine McPhee), Ivy (Megan Hilty) and Rebecca (Uma Thurman). The whole 15 episodes told us about how the journey is begun, processed, and ended. And, today, I watch the final episode, and I am glad that Kath is the real girl who stole the role of Miss Monroe. Yippie.
The other thing that made me love about this show is the character. Though, I support Kath from the head to toe, but the series made me confused, because they created “Ivy” to be a pro-antagonist character. In some part, I felt that she is adorable and lovable, but, at another part, she is a mean and ambitious sexy-girl who took any chances to stole the role of Marilyn. Haha.
Oke, this is such a magnificent experience to watch this series. I hope the SMASH Season 2 will always be on schedule. Really.
